Prior 2 yrs as graphic artist/prepress with a promotional products, 3 yrs as digital artist/production for a specialist printer and 3 yrs digital artist promotional products and 2 years as digital artist with a marketing company. Both Mac and PC XPress, Illustrator, CorelDraw, PhotoShop, FreeHand, PowerPoint, MS Office and Dimensions and CS4. Product produced has covered:multi and single colour print,, publications, presentations and graphics/art for promotional products (t’shirts, mugs, corporate stationery etc.), security cards. His strength is his versatility and interpersonal skils.

John is a very experienced and versatile Graphic Repro tradesperson, with up to the minute Mac skills. Has become an expert in the security card area, but can readily turn his hand to all other aspects of the trade from driving Imagesetters, Drum Scanning, manual combining, Chromalin proofing etc. He is comfortable on both Macs and PCs and has command of XPress, Illustrator, Freehand, Photoshop, Corel Draw among others.

Large Format Signs

Initial tasks were managing all facets of the print / prepress workflow for the signage department of Melbourne’s leading exhibtion company. Tasks included running solvent printers which produced large format prints, for application onto panels for custom stands, banners, lightboxes, roll-up banners and pop-up stands. Prepress lead to designing for exhibitors stands in busy periods, which in turn lead to a full time role as a designer. This involved liasing with account managers and their clients, being the exhibition organisers and companies which have bought space in the individual exhibtions. Other tasks included creating signage schedules, data backup, quoting jobs and ordering of stocks and substrates.

20 years exp. Recently completed longterm (18 month contract) TAFE- Graphics Dept. Background of success in graphic design, finished art, illustration and digital graphics. Highly proficient in commercial print production processes and techniques. Mac and PC. XPress, InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator and FreeHand. Product has covered ‘anything & everything’….brochures, catalogues, reports, ads, posters and packaging. Very Fast!!

Successfully completed diploma of art - Graphic Design in ‘92. Whilst studying and since graduating has completed several freelance contracts where she has been involved with design and layout for the production of brochures, corporate ID, magazines and stationery using PageMaker, XPress, Illustrator, FreeHand and PhotoShop.

Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. Artpro, Illustrator, Photoshop, Xpress and Freehand software for preparation of repro files & their output to film/digitalworkflows. Fully competent with Apple OS, Windows PC, NT Workstation and Sun Sparcstation platforms. Temping since 2004.
